Museveni Seeks More Japanese Investment and Road Equipment for Uganda
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni called for increased Japanese investment in agro-processing and asked Tokyo to support local governments with heavy road-construction equipment.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni received a Japanese delegation led by Takahashi Misako, Director-General for African Affairs at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Entebbe.
The talks covered infrastructure, energy, investment, education, health and opportunities for young people.
Museveni encouraged Japanese companies to expand investments in Uganda, particularly in agricultural processing and value addition.
He also requested additional road equipment, including graders, trucks, rollers and other heavy machinery, to support road maintenance and construction by local governments.
The president also highlighted Japan’s contribution to major Ugandan infrastructure projects, including the Kampala Flyover and Karuma Bridge.
