Tanzania and Burundi Meet in Bujumbura to Expand Economic and Security Cooperation
Tanzania and Burundi have opened the seventh session of their Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation in Bujumbura, covering sectors ranging from trade and energy to transport, defence and security.
Delegations from Tanzania and Burundi gathered in Bujumbura on September 29 and 30 for the seventh meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation.
The agenda includes trade and investment, transport and infrastructure, agriculture, energy and electricity, mining, defence and security, health, education, science and technology.
The two sides are reviewing the implementation of previously signed agreements while identifying new areas for economic and social cooperation.
The Tanzanian delegation is led by Charles Ngeleja Kadonya, Permanent Secretary responsible for East African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.
The discussions are expected to focus on practical measures to deepen bilateral trade and strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors.
